REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE DIASPORA

The Assembly of Republic of Macedonia from the first parliamentary elections in 1991 until the early parliamentary elections in 2011 functioned with 120 members. For the first time in the early parliamentary elections in 2011 the government organized elections in the Diaspora. Prior to incorporate such changes in the election code, the experts were skeptical about the willingness and the sought clearer provisions and details that make possible the emigrants to run for the seats in the Parliament. Their remarks were not taken fully into account and Republic of Macedonia entered this “adventure”, conducting elections outside the county.
